One for One

A successful and stylish shoe company is on a mission to give something back.
TOMS Shoes was founded on a simple premise: With every pair you purchase, TOMS will give a pair of new shoes to a child in need. One for One.

The TOMS Story:
In 2006, American traveler Blake Mycoskie befriended children in Argentina and found they had no shoes to protect their feet. Wanting to help, he created TOMS Shoes, a company that would match every pair of shoes purchased with a pair of new shoes given to a child in need. Blake returned to Argentina with a group of family, friends and staff later that year with 10,000 pairs of shoes made possible by TOMS customers.

As of September 2010, TOMS has given over one million pairs of new shoes to children in need through Giving Partners around the world.

To helo raise awareness on he impact a pair of shoes can have on a child's life TOMS had the idea for one day with out shoes. "Walk without shoes, work without shoes, dance without shoes" In April 2010 over 250,000 people went without shoes for one day and over 1,600 events took place around the globe. Join the movement next April 25 2011, and help a child in need by picking up your own pair of TOMS

For TOMS, giving a pair of shoes to a child in need isn't enough. TOMS has paired up with Movember Foundation to create some delightfully debonair Limited Edition TOMS, available for men and women, in support of Men's health. Funds raised benefit the Prostate Cancer Foundation and LIVESTRONG.

Toms Shoes has now become something of a movement rather than a business and with a host of designers on board the brand has acquired an array of celebrity fans from Demi Moore to Keira Knightly. Even Bill Clinton has a pair. With the holidays just around the corner TOMS are the perfect gift!
